Our 5th Grade Religious Ed students just completed a HUGEly successful Service Project.
The students and some awesome adult volunteers served a Free meal of grilled cheese and tomato soup to our parish members before the 6:30pm Ash Wednesday Mass. We went through 12 loaves of bread, 158 slices of cheese and 600 ounces of tomato soup!!
Thank you to everyone for helping our kids live out their Lenten call to serve others!
"...for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me in..." Matthew 25.35
"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40
CYO is heading to Belle Glade, FL with Alive In You Mission Camps to do our part to help be the hands and feet of Christ to the poor and the needy this summer. High school teens are invited to join us to live out Jesus' call to serve June 21 - 28, 2010.
All teens (incoming Freshmen through outgoing Seniors) are welcome to participate regardless of parish or religious affiliation.
For more information, contact Kristin Bird or download the information packet and necessary forms below. To guarantee a spot, $80 deposit and registration forms need to be returned by February 15. After that date, there may be spots still available (but we can make no guarantees). Contact Kristin Bird to register after February 15.
This past weekend, 20 high school teens and volunteer youth ministers traveled to the beautiful (but cold!) Green Lake Conference Center for our Winter Retreat. We had an incredibly grace-filled and engaging weekend of prayer, music, fellowship, and much laughter.
The theme for our retreat was "In the Flesh" and was based upon Christ's desire for us to become more like Him and share His love with all.
Our teenagers were empowered to make personal commitments to change the way they are living and to instead live for Christ. They were able to recognize the sin in their lives and make a commitment to change their lives. These teens have allowed Christ to become so present in their lives that when they left our retreat as living witnesses to the world - they are Christ “In the Flesh” to those they encounter at home, in school, and everywhere they go.
