St. Jude understood his ministry as a life of service to Christ and others. Here are ways that St. Jude parish serves Christ and serves others:
Stewardship
Encouraging our community to make stewardship a way of life is the focus of this team. Programs and materials are prepared to draw people into the stewardship of prayer, service, and sharing.
Time Commitment: This group meets monthly, with extra projects being assigned or chosen.

Social Concerns Committee
The Social Concerns Committee promotes social and economic justice through the Church. It serves the parish as a catalyst for the work of Social Justice -- the means by which we change policies, structures, and institutions so they work on behalf of the common good. The committee seeks to identify, formulate, and implement Catholic social principles in areas of public policy and conflict involving the poor and powerless, and lends support to persons or groups that work for the achievement of a more just and compassionate society.

Building and Grounds Team
The Building and Grounds Team helps to ensure that our investments in our places of worship and faith formulation are being well maintained.
Involvement: Parishioners can be on the team of regular maintenance, or offer to help at specific events, including: cemetery clean-up days; set-up and take-down for the Parish Picnic; Craft Shows; and the Parish EAA booth.
Time Commitment: Building and Grounds Team meets every first Tuesday of the month from September through May.

Parish Picnic
What better way is there to meet members and see old friends than to volunteer at the Parish Picnic?
Time Commitment: Various meetings are planned throughout the year. Also, there are many shift available during the picnic.

Cemetery Committee
The Parish Cemetery is a symbol of the parish's care and support for the deceased members of the parish and their families. The Cemetery Committee's responsibilities are to develop, maintain, and beautify our cemetery. The committee addresses upkeep of the cemetery and does various projects, including the fall and spring clean-ups.
Involvement: This committee meets at least twice each year.

Craft Group
If you are creative and enjoy sewing, painting, quilting, or working on assorted crafts, this is the place for you.
Involvement: Members work either at home or at the Sacred Heart School building on Monday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Finished work is sold at the various sales throughout the year, with profits being used to update the rectory and Parish Center. Volunteers are needed to help at each of the following annual sales: The Parish Picnic (June); The Harvest of Handiwork (October); and The Deer Widows Craft Sale (November).

St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul ministry is a service to the needy of the community. Members decide the extent of their involvement.
Commitment: It may involve monthly meetings, home visits, and/or volunteering as a clerk or to organize donations.

EAA Food Booth
Meet people from all over the world while working with a fun, humorous group at our EAA food booth.
Involvement: There are several jobs for which you can volunteer, including: cooking meat; taking customer orders; refilling condiments; washing dishes; or being a cashier.
Commitment: Either a three-hour shift in the morning, or a four-hour afternoon shift. There is also one meeting in May to coordinate efforts.

EAA Housing
The Parish Center is used to house EAA attendees during the last week of July. Hospitality is needed to make them feel at home.
Involvement: Volunteers are needed to clean and prepare the rooms and beds for the guests prior to their arrival, as well as clean the rooms and wash the bedding and towels when they depart. Assistance is needed to grocery shop and take in donations of baked goods and fruit.

BINGO
Workers are needed to set-up chairs at 9:00 on Tuesday mornings and take them down early Wednesday mornings. Workers are also needed to work the Tuesday BINGO sessions as people who call back the winning numbers or in the concession area.
Time Commitment: Once a week for a half an hour (or so) for set-up and take-down, and assistance on Tuesday nights during BINGO.

Fr. Carr's Dining Room
Volunteer are needed to provide salads, casseroles, and desserts on the third Monday of each month at Father Carr's dining room. Food donations can be delivered to Father Carr's dining room after 4:00 pm on the third and fourth Monday of each month. Food and cash donations are accepted.
Commitment: Food preparation and delivery

Coffee and Donuts / Sign-up Sunday
Volunteers are needed to help with this time of fellowship and faith building. This involves the set-up and serving of coffee and donuts once a month after 7:30 and 9:30 am Sunday masses.
Time Commitment: Two hours per session (7:30 or 9:30)

Baking and Hospitality
Nothing says WELCOME like a plate of home baked cookies or a great pie. There are many meetings and events that would be much sweeter with a little treat for our guests. If you love to bake then this is your ministry.
Time Commitment: A few hours a year.

Spanish Language
All are invited to learn the Spanish language. By attending a free class on Wednesday afternoons, you will learn a new language, make new friends, and appreciate a different culture. This is a great way to share in God's love.
Classes: Every Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the Parish Center.
